An individual therapy session is fifty (50) minutes. The standard fee is $250. Time will not be added for late arrivals. The fee for each session will be due and must be paid in full at the conclusion of each session. Cash, personal checks and credit cards are acceptable for payment. I will provide you with a receipt for all fees paid.

Cancellation Policy

  • If you do not attend your scheduled appointment or have not provided at least 48 hours’ notice of cancellation, you will be required to pay a $125 fee before your next scheduled appointment.

If you miss more than 3 sessions, your case may be closed, and you will be provided with a list of referral for other providers.  If you cancel multiple appointments in a short amount of time this will be addressed and possibly referred out.

You will need to pay your late fee before you can schedule your next appointment.

If you are more than 15 min late for your appointment, it will be considered a late cancel appointment.

Health Insurance Reimbursement Currently, I am in network for ILWU/Coastwise/BlueShield, Tricare, Health Net (MHN), and Medicare. If you choose to utilize my services and I am not on the insurance plan you have, you can utilize out of network benefits, or you can private pay using my standard rate of $250/session. Some health insurance companies will reimburse clients for my counseling services as an “out-of-network provider,” and some will not. I encourage you to contact your individual health insurance provider for their particular schedule of reimbursement.

If you wish to seek reimbursement for my services from your health insurance provider, I will be happy to provide you with an invoice or “superbill”, which contains the necessary information for most companies, such as a diagnostic code for reimbursement. Those providers that do reimburse may require that a standard amount be paid by you before reimbursement is allowed, and, as a result, only a percentage of my fee is reimbursable. Regardless of the schedule of reimbursement agreed upon by your health insurance provider, you are responsible for payment at the conclusion of each therapy session.  I recommend that you call your insurance company before starting treatment to confirm that you have out of network benefits.

Some questions to ask your insurance provider prior to intake:

Do I have mental health benefits?

What is my deductible? Has it been met?

How many sessions does my plan cover?

Do I need pre-authorization?

What are my out-of-network benefits?

Contact Between Sessions and Emergencies

I will make every effort to return phone calls within a 24 hour period. I do not charge for brief phone calls, but do charge for longer calls (10 minutes or more.) Fees for these calls are due at the next appointment and are as follows: 10 minutes = $25.00, 20 minutes = $35.00, 30 minutes = $45.00. If you are late for your appointment, that amount of time is deducted from our session.

In the case of an emergency (unable to manage thoughts of harming yourself/others), please call 911 immediately.

Additionally, we can discuss your emotional challenges between sessions and develop an action or safety plan. While I can be reached via e-mail, I request that all electronic communication be limited to logistical information only (e.g. scheduling information). To protect your confidentiality, please do not e-mail me clinically sensitive information.
